WHAT DO THEY DO?
VEN's Regional Hubs are designed to support localized collaboration, communication, and coordination across the state. Each hub serves the school divisions within its designated Virginia Department of Education superintendent region to advance environmental literacy goals in a contextually relevant way.

- Serve as a liaison between local school divisions and the statewide VEN leadership team
- Facilitate professional learning opportunities tailored to regional needs
- Coordinate sharing of environmental education resources, programs, and partners
- Support implementation of the Virginia K–12 Environmental Literacy Plan at the local level
- Build networks among formal and non-formal educators within the region
- Promote regional recognition programs such as Virginia Naturally Schools
- Identify and elevate regional challenges, successes, and stories to inform statewide strategy
Where is my hub?
There are eight superintendent regions designated by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE). VEN’s regional hubs mirror this exact VDOE designation. Each hub serves the school divisions located within its designated region.
- Region 1 – Central Virginia
- Region 2 – Tidewater and Eastern Shore
- Region 3 – Northern Neck
- Region 4 – Northern Virginia and Middle Peninsula
- Region 5 – Blue Ridge and Valley
- Region 6 – Western Virginia
- Region 7 – Southwest
- Region 8 – Southside
